Between 90 and 115 Strawberry Vale (A310) in Twickenham, there are several parking bays on the east side that straddle the road and pavement. Cars and vans (presumably of residents) are continually parked there, but they park over the painted lines and block the cycle lane. The cycle lane is very narrow here, but because it exists, drivers do not attempt to move over to avoid cyclists and get frustrated when cyclists have to leave the cycle lane to avoid the parked cars.
I assume the parking behaviour is well intended to give space to pedestrians and it may seem like there is plenty of space for a bike but there simply is not.
Additionally some vans that park are too wide to park there and simply cannot fit inside the allocated space.
